RVHRA | May Meeting | Ethics for the HR Professional

Ethics is an essential aspect of any profession. Human resource professionals are expected to model ethical behavior in the workplace and be leaders of ethics and compliance. Ethics for human resource professionals requires conducting duties with integrity, fairness, and respect for all individuals involved in the hiring, management, and termination processes. This includes upholding confidentiality and privacy, avoiding discrimination, and treating employees with dignity and respect. HR professionals also have a responsibility to maintain transparency in their actions to the extent practical, to comply with legal requirements, and to avoid any conflicts of interest. Ultimately, the ethical behavior of HR professionals plays a critical role in building trust and credibility within the organization, ensuring employee satisfaction and retention, and promoting a positive workplace culture. In this session, Beth Rattigan will review the SHRM Code of Ethics and discuss some of the ethical dilemmas facing HR professionals.
