Virtual meeting

Directions

The objective of this session is to provide Human Resources (HR) professionals a framework and tools to help drive higher levels of employee engagement within their organizations. There is an adage that ‘employees don’t leave companies, they leave managers’. In this session, we will discuss this and how HR can help their people leaders to engage employees. Participants will come out of the session with a greater understanding of the importance of employee engagement and its relationship to improved bottom line results. This session will include:

  • Defining ‘employee engagement’
  • Detailing the key drivers behind engaged employees and the manager’s responsibilities regarding engagement
  • Discuss what managers can do to fully engage employees at all levels, focusing on three keys:
    • Increasing empathy
    • Setting clear expectations
    • Listening to understand

We will discuss how these drivers can be adapted to the new world of hybrid working where much of our interactions take place outside of traditional ‘brick-and-mortar’ work places.

Learning objectives – Participants will come away with:

  • A clear understanding of the definition and importance of employee engagement
  • Learning how empathy is the ‘super power’ of engagement and how to increase empathy
  • Tools to setting clear expectations
  • Resources for continued listening skill building
